7 Days Kilimanjaro Machame Route Trekking

Day 1: Machame Campsite (3100m)
After breakfast at your Hotel in Moshi, our guide will pick you and transfer you to Machame gate for registration and also pick your guides and Porters. This will be followed by a short briefing from the Mountain rangers and experienced Guides. After this, you will begin the hike and it will take you about 7 hours to reach Machame Campsite. Dinner and overnight at Machame campsite

Day 2: Machame Camp to Shira campsite (3850m)
After breakfast, you will leave Machame Camp and ascend to Shira Camp. You will first across a valley with a beautiful stream then climb up a steep ridge. The trail drops down into a gorge after which you will begin ascending gently onto the moorland of the Shira plateau which is considered as one of the most fascinating mountain areas. The trekking time will be around 7 hours. Reach Shira camp for dinner and overnight stay at Shira Campsite.

Day 3: Acclimatization day
After breakfast, you will participate in 2 possible short excursions. The first one will lead you to the Shira Cathedral and from there you will head to the second one which will lead you to Shira Cone for Lunch. Return back to the campsite for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at Shira Campsite

Day 4: Shira Camp to Barranco Camp (3950)
After breakfast, you will continue with your hike up to the Lava tower at 4600m and then later descend a little bit to the Barranco Camp where you will have a clear view of the Barranco wall. Dinner and overnight stay at Barranco camp (The hiking time is about 7 hours)

Day 5, Barranco Camp to Barafu Camp (4600m)
After breakfast, climb up Barranco wall and this will take almost 2 hours. Later hike through the Karanga valley for the rest of the day. Dinner and overnight stay at Barafu camp

Day 6: Uhuru Peak (5896m) to Mweka Camp (3100m)
You will set off for your final ascent at about midnight in order to reach the summit for sunrise. This will take about 6 hours to reach the Stella Point on the rim of Kibo crater. You will be welcomed by a magnificent view of sunrise. Climb for 1.5 hours along the southern rim of the crater to reach Uhuru peak the highest point in Africa (5896m). Upon reaching the peak, take photographs, and because of the coldness, take a few minutes here and later descend back to Mweka Camp and this will take almost 7 hours. Here you will celebrate your Victory and then have dinner and overnight stay at Mweka Camp

Day 7: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
After breakfast, you will descend back to Mweka gate and this will take about 3 hours. Upon reaching the Gate, you will find down your certificate awards waiting for you for the appreciation of finishing the great trek. You will later be transferred back to your hotel in Moshi for drop off.
