5 Days Chimps and Gorilla tracking

Day 1: Transfer to Kibale National Park
This Primates safari starts with pick up from your hotel after breakfast by our company tour guide who will brief you about your safari and drive you off to Kibale National park; home of the chimpanzees and other 12 primate species and a multitude of bird varieties. You will reach Fort portal in time for your lunch and check in at your hotel. In the afternoon, go for nature walk to Amabeere ganyina mwiru, visit the king’s palace among other cultural sites in the area.
Accommodation: Primates Lodge / Kyaninga Lodge (Luxury),
Mountains of the moon / Chimp’s Nest / Kibale Forest camp (Mid-range),
Rwenzori view guest house / Chimpanzee Guest house (Basic).
Day 2: Chimps tracking and Nature walk in Bigodi wetland sanctuary
After your morning breakfast, you will assemble at the Kibale park headquarters for briefing about chimpanzee tracking in Kibale forest National Park by the park ranger guide. You will proceed to the forest where you will see the chimps playing in trees as you observe and take photos. You will have lunch at your lodge and in the afternoon, go for a nature walk in Bigodi wetland sanctuary, where you will encounter a variety of birds and primate species as well as n opportunity to reach out to the community by visiting their different projects that have emerged as a result of tourism. Dinner and overnight at accommodation of previous day
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable National Park.
Today, have your breakfast at leisure and later set off for Bwindi National. Continue the scenic drive to Kabale town, also known as the “Switzerland of Africa”. Later transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park. Dinner and overnight

Mid-range: Gorilla Mist/ Nshongi Gorilla resort/ Bakiga Lodge
Luxury: Gorilla safari lodge/Gorilla resort/ Gorilla Forest camp
Day 4: Gorilla tracking and an optional community walk.
After an early breakfast, you will assemble at the park headquarters with your packed lunch for briefing from the park rangers about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas. Proceed for the memorable adventure in the forest, an activity that may take 2-6 hours depending on the movement of the animals. Meet and stay with the animals for a maximum of one hour, then descend to the park headquarters and then to your Lodge for relaxation. In the evening,in case you have time and energy, you may go for an optional community walk to the nearby Bakiga/ Batwa community to explore their way of life. Dinner and overnight at (Day 3).

Day 5: Transfer back to Kampala
After a heavy breakfast transfer back to Kampala driving through the scenic Kigezi highlands commonly known as” the Switzerland of Africa”. You will arrive in Mbarara in time for lunch before proceeding for a mini- stop at the Equator for the water experiment, photography and souvenir shopping. Proceed to Kampala, arriving in the late afternoon ready to catch your flight back home.
