Cameroon played out a goalless draw with Benin who also sealed their qualification to the knockout stage for the first time.

The defending champions will face the Super Eagles on Saturday after failing to top Group F and they will potentially set up a tie against hosts Egypt on quarter final should they manage to eliminate Gernot Rohr’s men in Alexandria.

Benin’s had-earned point against Cameroon paid off and it ensured they qualified to the knock out stage as one of the four best third-placed teams. They will face a tough test against north Africa giants Morocco who won all their three group matches.

Tournament debutants and surprise package Madagascar who pipped Nigeria to top Group B will face DR Congo who also qualified from Group A as one of the four best third-placed teams.

Ghana Black Stars will battle out with 2004 Champions Tunisia following a 2-0 victory over Guinea-Bissau that saw then top Group F on goal difference after finishing with 5 points level with Cameroon.

Tunisia finished second to Mali in Group E after a goalless draw with Mauritania.

Mali beat Angola 1-0 to secure a top spot in Group E thanks to Amadou Haidara’s first half goal from 25 yards in Suez which may contend for goal of the tournament.

Mali will face 2015 champions Ivory Coast who finished second to Morocco in Group D on Monday in Suez.

Angola’s loss to Mali came as good news to South Africa who managed to qualify to the knock out stage where they will face hosts Egypt on Saturday.

Following the knockout kickoff between Morocco and Benin on Friday, West African giants Senegal who finished second to Algeria in group C will take on Uganda later for the second fixture of the round.
